The Boomtown Rats to play Birmingham show

The Boomtown Rats are to play in Birmingham on an 11-date UK tour in the new year.

The group, which formed in Dublin in 1975 and is led by Sir Bob Geldof, will be visiting Birmingham Town Hall on April 15.

Tickets are on sale now at £33 and £38.50 on 0121 780 3333.

The band, which had number one hits with Rat Trap and I Don't Like Mondays, originally split in 1986 before reforming in 2013.

The Boomtown Rats are also marking 2020, the Chinese Year Of The Rat with the release of Citizens Of Boomtown, the first new studio album since 1984.
