After featuring on Klangkarussell’s single 'Sonnentanz (Sun Don’t Shine)' in August 2013, Heard also appeared on singles with Rudimental, Kygo and Dillon Francis before releasing his debut solo EP ‘Trust’ in February of this year on Black Butter Records.

Opening the show was Olivia Dean, a singer songwriter from North East London. Entertaining the growing crowd with her upbeat acoustic songs accompanied by a guitarist, Olivia also treated the crowd to a fantastic rendition of Corrine Bailey Rae’s ‘Put Your Records On’.

Taking to the small O2 Institute 3 stage, Will Heard was accompanied by a large band featuring two backing singers, guitarist, bassist, drummer and keys player. This did wonders to enhance and complement Heard’s fantastic voice and demonstrate his talents in the best light.

Opening the show with Rudimental’s ‘Rumour Mill’ Heard showcased tracks full of soul and funk from both his debut EP as well as upcoming projects. Tracks such as ‘Sonnentanz’ and ‘I Better Love You’ got the crowd moving, imaginably working perfectly over the summer festivals with the sun shining.

It was clear from the performance that Will is meant for bigger stages and it was clear that once more recorded content is released his profile will grow. It seems that in the current pop music industry climate the way to get popular is feature on a Rudimental track with artists such as Ella Eyre, Anne Marie and Becky Hill finding it a springboard to their solo careers.

With a fantastic voice, great songs and a radio friendly approach it would seem that Will Heard’s time has come.
