Motor enthusiasts flock to Weston Park event despite bad weather - in pictures

Motor enthusiasts flocked to mark the 31st anniversary of a classic car show.

They came from all across the Midlands to show off their pride and joy on Easter Sunday at Weston Park – with classic cars restored to pristine conditions on display.

Motorfest returned despite the layout of the event altering after rain bogged down parts of the site beaming exhibitors still took grasp of the opportunity to parade their classics.

One motorist, Craig Clee, from Coseley, brought along his purple Toyota Hilux Mkii to show off – named after his dad 'big Jim'.

Another was Neil Gantley, from Kidderminster, who came to show off his impressive bright yellow Citroen 2CV 1989 featuring a matching kayak tied to its roof.

The event, which took place between 10am and 4pm on Sunday, saw displays of vintage cars, motorcycles, military 4x4s and performance cars – including classic American cars, European imports, 'fast Fords' and iconic British motors.

But those attending the Gemini Events show were also able to take go before a panel of judges in a bid to win one of the many competitions put on.

Hosted was the ‘Decibel Duel’ competition, which saw judges look to find the loudest vehicle at Weston Park, along with the 'Daily Driver' and 'Pride of Ownership' competitions.

Judges also looked to mark the winner of the 'Best in Show' award at the events finale.

Gemini Events took to social media to thank all those who braved the stormy conditions to make it to the 31st edition of the show and to the teams behind the scenes.

A spokespersons said: "A big thank you to all who attended Motorfest at Weston Park and the team of people who made it all possible in difficult conditions."
