The ball was organised by the Haven, a leading provider of refuge for women and dependent children who are vulnerable to domestic violence, homelessness and abuse.

The Mount Hotel in Tettenhall hosted the event for the third year in a row, with a Monte Carlo casino the theme of the evening.

IT services and support company IT Works sponsored the evening, with Managing Director Reuben Bannister expressing his pleasure at being able to continue its relationship with the Haven.

He said: "We have an ongoing relationship with The Haven as a business and see every day the great work they do.

"As a company, we are invested in supporting the local community, so this meant that we were more than happy to sponsor the event, helping them to raise vital funds and awareness."

More than 100 guests were treated to a three-course meal, disco, a magician, a virtual reality F1 simulator and an auction, helping to raise £5,000 for the charity.

The main entertainment was the full casino with Blackjack and Roulette tables, which raised additional funds for the charity and won one lucky guest a star prize of a holiday.

Haven Community Fundraiser Lucy Owen attended the event and spoke about what the event meant to the Haven.

She said: "It was a fantastic night and we were really pleased to see so many guests come, enjoy themselves and raise the money they did.

"We do a lot of work as an organisation with vulnerable people, so an event like this highlights how important it is and it's nice to see people care as much as they do."
