Wolvesfest 2018: Tinned Astronaut, The Boston Shakers, The Icon and more to play summer show

WolvesFest is set to return to Wolverhampton Rugby Club this summer.

Now in its fourth year, the festival vows to showcase the 'best in Birmingham and Black Country talent' in a 2000-capacity marquee.

Among the line-up this year are the likes of The Boston Shakers, Tinned Astronaut, The Icon, The Uproars, Dharma Bums, and Reuben Archer's Personal Sin.

Based in Liverpool, The Boston Shakers blend heavy rock, synth and elements of rap into their style of music.

The quintet won the Flick Of The Finger Soundcheck for MAH 2017, chosen by record label owner, musician, manager and music blogger Alan McGee.

Wolverhampton quartet Tinned Astronaut formed in 2012, citing their influences as the likes of Radiohead, Green Day, and Wolf Alice.

The band released its debut EP 100 Voices in 2013, and secured a spot at the OMG Teen Festival at the Genting Arena supporting Union J and Lawson.

They have since gone on to play shows alongside bands such as JAWS, Flyte, INHeaven, and The Amazons, as well as releasing second E.P, My Mate Jenny, in 2017.

Rock quartet The Icon began as a three-piece acoustic act, before recruiting drummer Ste Lengyal and becoming an electric outfit.

On March 3 the band is set to play Liverpool's O2 Academy as part of the UK SoundWaves semi-finals, presented by 107.6 Capital FM's Gemma Cutting.

The group are also set to play Brewood Music Festival this year, which takes place on July 15.

Redditch rockabilly quartet The Uproars are influenced by the likes of Chuck Berry, Elvis, Stray Cats, and Eddie Cochran among others.

The group is set to play a variety of shows this year, including charity event Liver Foundation's Rockabilly All-Dayer, alongside the likes of The Deadshots, Relentless, and The Red Hot Rockets.

Formed in 2015 Dharma Bums is a four-piece acoustic covers and originals band from Kidderminster.

The quartet covers a variety of popular singles by Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, David Bowie, The Pogues, and more.

Reuben Archer's Personal Sin is the solo project from the Stampede vocalist, and former vocalist of Lautrec, Wild Horses, and Lionheart.

Reuben formed the outfit with Stampede guitarist Rob Wolverson, and released their debut album Personal Sin in 2013.

The album features guest appearances from Status Quo's John 'Rhino Edwards, Whitesnake's Neil Murray, Magnum and Thunder's Harry James, Thunder's Luke Morley, Saxon's Paul Quinn, UFO's Paul Raymond, and more.

WolvesFest 2018 is set to take place on June 16 at Wolverhampton Rugby Club.
