Defender Kevin Malcuit believes relegation-threatened Lille must gain points from all of their remaining fixtures as they bid to avoid the drop.

Lille sit 19th in the Ligue 1 table ahead of their clash with fellow strugglers Amiens on Easter Sunday after failing to win any of their last seven games.

Victory at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy could move Lille out of the drop zone but full-back Malcuit insists Christophe Galtier’s side need to get something from all of the eight games which remain.

In quotes reported on Lille’s official Twitter account, Malcuit said: “We have to take points from all of our remaining games.

“(We must) try to win all of our home matches and gain as much as possible from the away encounters.

“We’re in a critical situation and are all fully aware of it.”

Galtier has called on his team to be positive in their remaining matches.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, he said: “We have to fight, to look for solutions.

“We have to be positive. We have eight games left to get us out of this situation.”

The match will be played behind closed doors after Lille fans spilled onto the pitch against Montpellier on March 10.

Amiens are 16th in the table, three points ahead of Lille, and Harrison Manzala knows his side cannot afford to lose Sunday’s game.

The Amiens forward told www.ligue1.com: “We absolutely must not lose because they (Lille) could be kickstarted by that.

“Our fixture list is complicated and I think our survival will be played out at home.

“Away, we’re going to try and trouble everyone, and pick up points against the big teams that are competing for European places.”
