Kieran Trippier on Wolves' "total football" style under Cesar Peixoto
Trippier has enjoyed his start to life at Wolves under new head coach Peixoto.
Kieran Trippier says new head coach Cesar Peixoto wants to play “total football” at Wolves.
Peixoto has been putting Trippier and his new teammates through their paces and instilling his ideas into the squad since the start of pre-season.
35-year-old Trippier has worked under Diego Simeone, Mauricio Pochettino, Gareth Southgate and Sean Dyche, and has enjoyed his introduction to life under his latest boss.
Trippier’s first impressions of Wolves boss Peixoto
“It’s always good to get different ideas from different managers,” Trippier observed in a club interview.
“He seems like a really demanding manager, which I love as a player.
“We’re getting his instructions and what he expects from me and other players in the team.
“The way he wants to set-up, he wants to press high, he wants to play total football, which is always good for the club.”
Wolves travelled to Portugal for a warm weather training camp and drew 0-0 against Estoril in a behind-closed-doors friendly on Saturday.
Trippier arrived at Wolves this summer alongside fellow 35-year-old and club icon Raul Jimenez, who has returned to Molineux following his Fulham exit.
Rafiki Said also joined from Belgian Pro League side Standard Liege earlier in the window, although there have been no further additions.
“The standard’s have been really good and really high”

But Trippier has enjoyed acclimatising to his new surroundings and feels the pre-season trip to Portugal has helped him connect with his Wolves teammates.
He added: “It’s been good. It’s important when you go away on pre-season to get to know your teammates and the staff that have just come in.
“It’s been a tough pre-season, but it’s always good for me, personally, as a new player to come in.
“It helps that I knew a few of the players before I arrived and the lads are great. It’s been a great environment to be involved in.
“The standard’s been really good, really high, and the manager demands that.
“There might be still players coming in, but we can only deal with what we’ve got now.
“I’ve really enjoyed the sessions. Good quality, good high tempo, that’s what the manager expects.”
