Kieran Trippier hungry for Wolves success as he sets sights on promotion

The 35-year-old is eager to add another promotion to his CV with Wolves.

Kieran Trippier insists he still has the hunger to be successful and has set his sights set on promotion with Wolves.

The 35-year-old has enjoyed a distinguished career with the likes of Burnley, Tottenham Hotspur, Atletico Madrid and Newcastle United, earning 54 caps with England in the process.

Trippier won La Liga with Atletico in 2021, the EFL Cup with Newcastle in 2025 and also finished runners-up in the Champions League at Tottenham Hotspur in 2019.

He also spent his early career with Burnley, where he achieved automatic promotion to the Premier League in 2014.

And the experienced full-back is looking to repeat that feat at Molineux after joining earlier this summer.

“I want to be successful, even at the age that I’m at now, and help the club get out of the Championship to the Premier League,” Trippier told the club.

“We’ve got to take it a game at a time, it’s going to be a demanding season.

“I played in the Championship many times in my career, so I know want to expect. I’m here to help on and off the pitch.”

New boss Cesar Peixoto has injected experience into his squad over the summer with club icon Raul Jimenez also returning following his Fulham exit.

Jimenez is yet to join up with the Wolves squad due to his World Cup exploits with Mexico, but Trippier did play 60 minutes during their goalless draw against Portuguese side Estoril on Saturday.

And Trippier says he will relish his role as a leader and hopes to be a guiding light for the younger players in the squad.

“That’s what I am as a player,” Trippier continued when asked about his role as a leader.

“With my experience and the age that I am now, I demand a lot from myself and certainly my teammates because it’s going to be a tough season.

“On the training pitch, I’m demanding. I help players and I’m always using my voice, so hopefully that can help the players, especially the younger players at the club.”
