Nuno: We will miss irreplaceable Wolves supporters

Nuno Espirito Santo has hailed Wolves' supporters as 'irreplaceable' ahead of the first Molineux game in the behind-closed-doors Premier League era.

Nuno's side are hosting Bournemouth (6pm) tomorrow after restarting the top-flight campaign with a 2-0 win at West Ham.

No fans will be inside the stadium, of course, which will be strange considering the Portuguese is used to having more than 30,000 cheering on his players.

And while there will be a fan mosaic covering the South Bank, Nuno said: "The fans are irreplaceable, no matter what the clubs try.

"There'll be nice images, we appreciate it, but nothing can replace our fans – nothing. We will miss them."

On whether the lack of fans negates the home advantage, Nuno added: "It's a game of football, but no doubt about it, the support we have had at Molineux has made us achieve almost impossible things in certain games."

The Wolves chief confirmed everybody is fit and available for the encounter, with Adama Traore and Pedro Neto pushing for starts after their game-changing efforts as substitutes at the London Stadium.

Nuno – the Premier League's only BAME manager – was also asked about the 'White Lives Matter' banner which was flown over the Etihad during Manchester City's win against Burnley on Monday night.

And he said: "I saw it. I think Burnley already condemned it.

"It's about respect. I'm very hopeful the next generation will understand.

"Let's hope that in the end, everybody understands. We have to keep on going."
