Reaction to the Result

Wolves started a little nervous in the opening stages and were giving away too many sloppy free kicks at what was a cagey Molineux. Even Adama struggled initially and should have done better with his first chance but after that, Wolves grew into the game. The goal settled any jittery nerves and Wolves managed the game like any top European side should. They’re into the group stages and what a journey we are on.

Man of the Match

This could’ve gone to either Boly, Raul or Coady but for me it has to be Adama. I’ve banged the Adama drum since the lad got to Wolves and it’s fantastic to see the South Bank getting behind him when last season they were on his back. He tore Torino to pieces.

Something to Improve

The right centre back position worries me. Vallejo looked very complacent on the ball tonight and with Bennett’s recent form, it’s a tad concerning. I was surprised Nuno hadn’t taken off Jiménez and Jota earlier too, especially after Nuno's comments this week over resting Raul.

What a great night. Torino were no mugs and they knew how to look after themselves. But, we were better, playing some delightful football at times with plenty of standout performances.

Man of the Match

This is a tough call with so many 8/10 performances. Jonny and Moutinho set the mood right from the kick off. Boly and Saiss were physically strong. In the attacking half Traore looked dangerous, Jota constantly bounced off defenders and the floor but Jimenez just looked a class act. We are very fortunate to have such a good player as him.

Something to Improve

Any grumble would be harsh. A few more players willing to shoot, when well placed to do so, would be good to see.

Six Europa League Qualifying games, six wins, zero complaints. Torino gave us a good game over both legs but we proved to be too strong in the end and we are deservedly in the group stages. We started fairly slow but once we got the goal we grew stronger and caused them more problems. Belotti is a hell of a player and surely someone big in Europe will snap him up next season.

Man of the Match

Jimenez and Jota both deserve a lot of credit as I wasn’t expecting both to start and to play as well as they did with the amount of minutes they’ve had, it’s got to be respected. Jimenez’s finish was top class and the Torino players could only foul Jota to stop him which tells you how good he was. Moutinho’s work ethic goes unnoticed at times but he was exceptional again, as was Saiss, Dendoncker and Adama who has nailed that RWB spot for now.

Something to Improve

I still feel we need to start games quicker. Not just here but in recent weeks the first 30 minutes at least we have been a bit slow and that’s the only improvement in my eyes, but it seems to be a recurring thing. It’s not affected us majorly as we’re still unbeaten in all competitions and we scored the first goal in this game but on the whole we did well against tough opposition.

Reaction to the Result

I’m absolutely thrilled with this result and getting into the Europa League group stages. To think the so called experts warned of us “doing a Burnley”. I’m pleased that Nuno picked almost his strongest team as this was necessary against dangerous opponents. I felt it was vital that we score first and felt relieved when we went ahead. We dealt very easily with everything Torino could throw at us until the last few minutes when the ball was pin-balling across our box. Our defence was solid and there was no way they would score three.

Man of the Match

There were some very good performances from Jimenez, Moutinho, Saiss, Johhny, Dendoncker and Jota (second half). I thought Coady was excellent. A true Captain’s performance from him. Man of the Match was Boly who was quite superb. He was up against quality forwards and won the battles every time, winning the ball and calmly playing it out to feet to start another Wolves attack. Special mention to Traore. He’s been so impressive this season and has improved dramatically. That’s four assists already; more than the whole of last season. He fully deserves his starting place and I hope he keeps it on Sunday. To think some people said cut our losses? He’ll be worth double what we paid when Nuno has finished with him!

Something to Improve

Once more we started the game on the back foot, allowing Torino lots of possession albeit mostly in their own half. This is a dilemma. I urge Wolves to play 10 yards further forward and get on the front foot. However, we are getting goals and also good results. Out of 9 games, there is only Burnley where I felt disappointed by the end. Maybe we should just carry on as we are.

Reaction to the Result

Another sell out Molineux crowd resplendent under the Europa League lights and a much more open game than the one played out in Turin. Torino more than played their part and looked a useful outfit both creating and missing a fair few good chances. In truth, however, we never panicked and always looked capable of scoring, something that is now second nature to Raul who now has 6 in the Europa League alone.

Man of the Match

Traore again looked the most likely player to unlock the Italians and so it proved with the cross for Raul's splendid opener and the wing-back/winger remained a thorn in their side for the entire game.

No major improvements needed – just more of the same, please!
