The team’s success has helped to get the public spending and many venues in the city are benefiting from increased revenue as a result.

Bobby Basran, director of the Leaping Wolf pub on Waterloo Road next to Molineux, said the pub is taking four coaches to Wembley, but it also wants to create a vibrant atmosphere for fans who have not got a ticket for the game.

He said: “We are revelling in Wolves’ success. For businesses in the city the team’s success in huge news. The better the team does, the stronger the bar gets.”

Special food and drink offers are being put on for the game and a DJ is booked from 8pm, which Mr Basran hopes will greet victorious supporters on their way back from Wembley.

The Goose, on Lichfield Street in the city centre, is another venue which plans to embrace the matchday atmosphere.

Ryan Colley, a shift manager at the pub, said: “The pub has risen with the success of the team. We see new faces every week. Since September, all of our tables have been booked out.

“The team has a huge impact on the business, because people who first come on a matchday fall in love with the place, come back on weekdays and get very comfortable with coming here as a place to relax.”

The Hangar on Pountney Street, Blakenhall, is another venue showing the game. It boasts an eight metre by four metre screen and food and drink will be available.

A DJ will be on hand to create a lively atmosphere and the venue are hoping to host a comedy performance later in the evening as part of an after-party.

Event organiser, Ben Addison, said: “We want to create a lively, family atmosphere for Wolves fans who weren’t able to get tickets for the game.

“Wolves have done great to get this far and we want to make sure that people can enjoy the game in a fun atmosphere.”

The Hangar will be open from 2pm-11pm on Sunday.

Elsewhere, the Hog’s Head is opening at 6.30am exclusively to its Tatters Travel ticket holders to serve them a matchday breakfast.

The pub is planning a 23-hour-opening extravaganza, as it will be showing Wrestlemania until the early hours of Monday morning.
