Former Wolves goalkeeper Mike Stowell takes on Leicester caretaker role

Former Wolves goalkeeper Mike Stowell has been placed in temporary charge of Leicester City following the sacking of Claude Puel.

Stowell – who kept goal for Wolves throughout the 1990s, making 448 appearances for the club – will be joined in the dugout by fellow Foxes first-team coach Adam Sadler.

Puel was axed after Leicester’s 4-1 home defeat to Crystal Palace on Saturday evening extended their miserable run to six losses in their last seven games, including a defeat to League Two side Newport in the FA Cup.

The Foxes have slipped to 12th place in the Premier League table, just eight points above the relegation places.
