Nuno: Goals will come for Wolves

Nuno Espirito Santo says 'the goals will come' for Wolves – as he calls for a reaction this weekend.

The Wolves head coach has suffered consecutive league defeats for the first time since taking charge at Molineux last summer.

Wolves failed to score in both games and their goals tally is at nine from 10 league matches.

Nuno wants his players to improve the 'final touch' in front of goal, but has no doubts that can happen.

"We have to react," he said ahead of Saturday's game against Tottenham Hotspur.

"I think how we played in the last game, we played good and didn't deserve to lose.

"We have to maintain our high standards. We know we're going to face a fantastic team and we want to compete.

"(At Brighton) here was frustration, disappointment, especially for the players because they felt they were the better team.

"How you play is very important – of course the result can tell you a lot of things.

"How we manage to unbalance the other teams and control our defence...we are optimistic for the game."

Raul Jimenez is Wolves' top scorer on just two goals.

Nuno isn't too concerned though, saying Wolves are getting the hardest part of the game absolutely right.

"I am totally sure the goals will come," he said. "We have to improve in the final touch but the difficult part of the game is to build, to create chances that we can shoot at goal.

"This final touch, we must work on it and we will do so and improve."

Spurs lost 1-0 to Manchester City on Monday night and face West Ham in the Carabao Cup this evening.

They also have a must-win Champions League game at home to PSV next Tuesday.

Nuno doesn't think that necessarily gives Wolves an advantage, though.

"They'll probably make changes, it's natural with a good squad and different competitions," he said of Saturday's opponents.

"We know we'll face a very good team but at home we expect the support of our fans and we'll be strong enough to compete.

"I understand why (Pochettino) is in demand. He builds a team, you can see by the squad, he builds his own idea through the players.

"If you want to be stronger in the future and be competitive you have to stick together, do what you believe and work on the same things over and over again."
