The majority of Wolves fans believe the club’s Premier League season tickets offer a fair deal.

Thousands of supporters voted in an Express & Star poll after adult price rises of up to 30 per cent were announced yesterday, and under-17 tickets trebled from £50 to £150 and under-12s gone up from £23 to £69.

While some supporters bemoaned the hike in prices, the majority said they were understandable. Danny Rosamond tweeted: “If we want to be a force in the Premier League then we need to pay accordingly for tickets. I can’t remember the last time the early bird prices rose, so it’s probably time. How can we moan with what we’ve had on offer this season and the potential of new stars arriving.”

But Express & Star website user mickey9223 said: “The season ticket prices for adults seems fair. But an increase of 150 per cent for kids is a bit much... The kids are the future fans of the club and should be looked after a bit better.”

Albert and Muriel Bates, who run Wolves Official Supporters’ Club, added: “We would expect a 10 per or 20 per cent rise but this is disappointing.”

A total of 4,700 votes were cast in an Express & Star poll yesterday, with 53 per cent saying the new tickets were a ‘fair price’, while 41 per cent said they were ‘too expensive’. Six per cent believe they offer a ‘great deal’.

Wolves won promotion to the Premier League at the weekend, so will welcome top-flight giants Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea to Molineux next season.

And Express & Star website user Welshwolf sid: “I just want a season ticket and I’ll gladly pay whatever it takes for a journey with Nuno and the likes of Ruben Neves after years of false dawns.”

Fellow website user callumwwfc added: “I don’t mind paying extra at all. What I am disappointed by is the lack of a ‘loyalty discount’, as I, as someone that has paid for my season ticket for a number of years to watch dross, will be paying the same as someone that has jumped on the Fosun bandwagon in January or even this summer. Having said that, I think £449 (£23 per game) still represents good value and I’ll be there in the South Bank again next season!”
