The Championship trophy is heading to Wolverhampton this month.

Wolves may be running away with the title race, leading second-placed Derby County by 12 points, but they are still some way off getting their hands on the prize.

However, supporters will be able to catch a glimpse of the famous old trophy at the George Wallis pub in Victoria Street, in the city centre, when league sponsors Sky Bet bring it to the city on their whistle-stop tour on Saturday, January 27 (1-3pm).

The event will take place upstairs in the pub’s function room, with selfies and photographs allowed with the silverware as a memento.

Tables can be pre-booked, but no tickets are required and admission is free. Donations are welcome for a charity of the George Wallis’s choice.

There will be a raffle for football-themed prizes and the day’s FA Cup games will be shown across the venue.

Wolves last lifted the trophy in 2009, but are on course to do so again this year after picking up 61 points from their opening 26 matches.
