Thirteen years ago today Wolves enjoyed one of the best days in their history.

A 3-0 victory over Sheffield United in the First Division play-off final returned the club to the top-flight for the first time since 1984.

Wolves had been marooned in the second tier since 1989, with managers Graham Turner, Graham Taylor, Mark McGhee and Colin Lee trying and failing to bring Premier League football to Molineux, despite being backed by Sir Jack Hayward's millions.

But Dave Jones finally banished the 'sleeping giant' tag. And Wolves did it in style, winning the play-offs in Cardiff to spark scenes of jubilation both there and back in Wolverhampton, which hadn't seen a party like it for years.
