Wolves' Dave Edwards in injury blow while Jamie O'Hara returns to training
Wolves today tasted mixed fortunes on the fitness front after Dave Edwards was ruled out for up to eight weeks while Jamie O'Hara returned to full training.
Wales international Edwards has been ruled out for six to eight weeks with the hamstring injury which saw him stretchered off in Saturday's 4-1 win at Bristol City.
It was hopes Edwards would only be out for a month with the injury.
But the 26-year-old midfielder suffered a grade two tear as he ran down the right wing prior to his 60th-minute departure, and will be out for up to double the amount of time first estimated.
The news is a blow to Wolves and Edwards, who was in good form and had helped the team into their commanding lead at Ashton Gate.
"It is disappointing that he picked up a bad injury," said boss Stale Solbakken.
"We don't have so many players with the experience that Dave has.
"In the last four or five games he has been up to a good standard in his performances."
But there is much better news surrounding O'Hara, who rejoined his team-mates on the training pitch for the first time since August.
O'Hara tweeted: "First full session with the boys today, can't wait, #prayitgoesok."
On Saturday, the 26-year-old hinted his rehabilitation from a third hernia operation was going well when he informed his Twitter followers: "I got a good feeling about December. Great weeks training done."
Although the £5m signing from Tottenham featured in a pre-season friendly at Walsall, he went back into hospital for a third operation in August which was initially estimated to keep him out for eight weeks.
He hasn't played competitively since the 2-0 home defeat to Blackburn on March 10, when he was jostled by angry fans demonstrating outside Molineux, and later went under the knife for a second time.
That was the last of five games after two months out with a similar problem, which required surgery in December.
