Sam Allardyce demands a killer instinct from West Brom

Sam Allardyce says all his forwards must ‘get in dangerous positions and be more clinical’ as Albion aim to end the season in a positive manner.

The Baggies are 10 points from safety and have not scored in their last three matches.

Relegation from the Premier League seems all but wrapped up, but Allardyce has urged the attackers to step up ahead for the final couple of months of 2020/21.

“You can talk about practice and we all have that opportunity where we can section off areas of defending, midfield and attacking,” he said.

“But what it’s really about is having the nerve to produce the hardest thing in the Premier League and finding that clinical finish. The ability to put the ball in the back of the net when that chance pops up.

“It’s a bit like what happened to us against Everton. We saw a wonderful goal scored by Mbaye Diagne. Chest and volley all in one movement.

“But unfortunately, for us, he’s a toenail offside. We need to see more of that, not just from Mbaye, we need to share it around. We need all our front players to get in dangerous positions and be more clinical.”
