The ‘Baggies Buddies’ initiative will be launched on Saturday, February 2, when Tony Pulis returns to The Hawthorns with Middlesbrough.

The club are encouraging supporters to bring a companion to the match who may feel isolated or alone.

The plan is to create a group called 'Baggies Buddies' for supporters currently deterred from coming to The Hawthorns because they have nobody to go with.

The Buddies will meet up before home games and sit together during matches in Woodman Corner.

A club statement said: "We’re passionate about, and committed to, our local community and determined to support everyone – not just Albion fans.

"The club wants to offer a comfortable, welcoming and safe space at The Hawthorns for all and we’ve had a fantastic response from the Albion Family to help us to do so.

"We’re delighted to report that we already have a group of volunteers who want to take up the role of 'Baggies Buddies'.

"But we can always accommodate more and if you are interested in offering your services please email marketing@wbafc.co.uk and we’ll send you an outline of the role and an application form."

The 'Baggies Buddies' section will be located in Woodman Corner.

The club are encouraging fans to spread the news of its launch in order to encourage lonely fans and isolated people from the community to come along.
