Luke Daniels set to leave Hawthorns for Scunthorpe United

Albion goalkeeper Luke Daniels is set to leave The Hawthorns to sign for League One Scunthorpe United.

The 27-year-old is the Baggies' longest serving player with 11 years' service despite making just one league appearance as a substitute.

Daniels made just two starts, both in the League Cup, with his only league outing coming last season at Everton as a substitute for the injured Ben Foster.

He has found himself again behind Foster and Boaz Myhill in the pecking order this season.

And, with young goalkeepers Jack Rose and Alex Palmer making strides in the academy, the Baggies have now sanctioned a transfer for Daniels.

His former reserve-team colleague, midfielder Liam O'Neil, is already on loan with Scunthorpe for the rest of the season.
