A under-hit back-pass and giving away a penalty have been two key mistakes from the midfielder that have led to a goal this season.

Despite that, the academy product has impressed with his consistent performances and Clarke believes his mental strength has a big part to play.

“Every player is capable of an individual error,” Clarke said.

“You’re hoping that’s not going to be punished with a goal, but what I look for then is the mentality of the lad for giving that individual mistake away.

“Liam is up there as the best. He is so mentally strong, nothing affects him and he continues with his game, which is vital and crucial. One mistake doesn’t lead to another mistake with Liam Kinsella, he puts it to the back of his mind straight away and moves on. That’s what I want to see from my players. That’s what he is, he’s consistent and has done well. Liam Kinsella doesn’t leave anything out there on the training ground and on the pitch. That’s why he’s loved by the fans and loved by us.

“We also have to be careful with Liam. I have high expectations but I don’t want to burn him out because every training session and every game he doesn’t leave anything out there.

“He’s one we don’t need breaking down.”
