The Saddlers will host the Mariners on Saturday September 12 in what will be their third competitive match of a campaign which begins a week earlier, when they host Sheffield Wednesday in the Carabao Cup.

After Grimsby, Darrell Clarke’s men travel to Yorkshire for a first-ever competitive meeting with Harrogate Town on September 19, before rounding off the opening month with a home fixture against Leyton Orient.

Walsall then have seven league fixtures scheduled for October. The visit of Colchester on October 10 is likely to be the first match in which supporters are allowed back into the Banks’s Stadium, while the month also includes a first competitive trip to Barrow since 1970 on Saturday, October 24.

A busy festive programme sees the Saddlers travel to Salford City on Boxing Day before hosting Scunthorpe United on December 29, while 2021 will begin with a home visit of Carlise on January 2.

Walsall’s final home match of the season is against Morecambe on May 1, while they round off the campaign with a long trip to Carlisle on May 8.
