Halesowen Town 1 Stafford Rangers 1 - Report

Jack Sherratt salvaged a late point for Stafford Rangers after struggling Halesowen took the lead through on-loan Oliver Finney in a tight encounter in the Evo-Stik Premier Division.

Halesowen had an early let off in the 9th minute when Sherratt's superb cross was headed home by Daniel Westwood, but the effort was ruled out for offside.

After 13 minutes, a good cross from Kyle Morrison was finger-tipped clear by visiting goalkeeper Adam Whitehouse before opposite goalkeeper Dan Platt collected shots from Westwood and Jack Langston.

It was then Stafford's turn to escape after 35 minutes when Whitehouse lost the ball and became stranded out of goal, but Lee Chilton's shot was blocked.

Before the interval Richard Gregory's shot was beaten away by Platt.

Halesowen struck the bar after an hour but to home relief then grabbed a 62nd minute lead when Finney turned well to smash home his first Yeltz goal following good work by James Spray.

Stafford made a triple substitution to attempt to change their fortunes and substitute Bradley Fortnam-Tomlinson flashed a 77th minute shot just wide.

Boro finally broke down the packed home defence to equalise in the 82nd minute when substitute Louis Briscoe laid the ball off from the right for Sherratt to smash past Platt from the edge of the area.

With two minutes remaining substitute Izak Reid's overhead kick was blocked as Stafford sought a winner.
