Kidderminster Harriers today counted Ricky Shakes as their third new summer arrival after Steve Guinan signed a new deal to stay at the club.

Shakes joins after turning down terms to stay with Blue Square Premier rivals Ebbsfleet, where he was the club's longest-serving player.

The Guayana international winger, 27, has put pen to paper on a one-year contract and goes full-time, after part-time football with the Fleet.

The former Bolton trainee joins York winger Danny Pilkington and Hednesford defender Cheyenne Dunkley as Harriers' new arrivals.

And, when the players report back for pre-season training next Thursday, Guinan will be starting his 20th pre-season after agreeing to stay.

The 36-year-old, who is is 37 in December, first signed professional forms for Nottingham Forest in January 1993 and has played for 15 clubs.

The experienced veteran has a full-time job as football academy manager at Hartpury College in Gloucestershire to juggle with his playing duties.

But Guinan insists he's still like "a big kid" when he laces up his boots and runs out onto the field.

He said: "It's the best thing in the world. I have been fortunate - this is my 20th pre-season coming up which I'm not looking forward to!

"I'm still like a big kid. Even in the back garden when I score past my lad, I still celebrate and have a bit of fun.

"Hopefully, we will see that a few more times this season!"
