More than 100 clubs, including League One Peterborough, have now signed a letter to express ‘profound concern and displeasure’ with the decision.

The FA has faced criticism for voiding the season for non-league divisions below the National League and National League North and South, and for women’s football below the Women’s Super League and Championship, due to the coronavirus outbreak.

A letter sent to the FA on Monday carried an initial 64 signatories from across non-league football, including Halesowen Town, Stourbridge, Walsall Wood and Sporting Khalsa.

It has attracted additional support since first being published, with more than 100 signatures.

Wolves are thought to have not signed it yet, but it is believed they are considering it. It comes after the Wolves Women side had their season cancelled, despite being nine points clear at the top of the National League Division One Midlands. It’s believed Albion, Villa and Walsall have not signed the letter.

Meanwhile, the National League has now suspended all its action indefinitely – including fixtures in its North Division, in which Kidderminster Harriers play. A statement read: “The National League is currently obtaining specialist legal advice, is consulting regularly with The FA and other stakeholders, and is committed to involving its member clubs in a pending decision on how best to conclude the 2019-20 season.”
