Axel Tuanzebe has called on Villa to play the role of party poopers when they host title-chasing Norwich on Sunday.

The Canaries, already promoted to the Premier League, need a point at Villa Park to clinch the Championship crown.

But defeat to play-off bound Villa, coupled with a win for Sheffield United at Stoke, would see them pipped on the line by the Blades.

Defensive ace Tuanzebe said: “They have promotion but they have not clinched the title. If we can spoil the party, let’s do it!”

Villa head into the game guaranteed to finish fifth in the table and will host either Albion or Leeds in a play-off semi-final first leg a week tomorrow.

Tuanzebe, who returned from a three-month injury lay-off at the end of March, is gearing up for one final push as Dean Smith’s men bid to reach the Premier League.

The Manchester United loanee underwent surgery on his foot in December and admits the time out means he now feels fresh for the challenges ahead.

He said: “In a strange way injuries can sometimes give you a good period of rest as well. There are a lot of games in this league and is legitimately fatiguing.

“You can see it in some players, you can see in their legs they are tiring out.

“Obviously the injury is not something I planned for or wished to happen but I do feel refreshed now. I am ready to go and give it one last big push.”
