The 22-year-old had been due to spend the whole season with the League One club but is now back at Bodymoor Heath, having made just 16 appearances in all competitions.

Tshibola joined Villa in a £5million switch from Reading during the summer of 2016, signing a four-year deal.

But he made just ten appearances for Villa before finishing last season on loan at Nottingham Forest.

Tshibola was one of several players deemed surplus to requirements by boss Steve Bruce but will not be able to make another loan move until the January transfer window.

MK Dons boss Robbie Neilson told the MK Citizen: "We had a chat with Aaron during the week and we've decided to send him back to Villa.

"We felt it wasn't working out the way we'd both hoped and expected.

"We wish Aaron all the best - he's a good kid, and we hope he can push on at Aston Villa."

Tshibola made 16 appearances for MK in all competitions but failed to make the squad for recent games with Hyde and Oxford.

He meanwhile incurred Neilson's wrath after being sent-off just five minutes into last month's League One fixture with Bradford, a game MK went on to lose 4-1.
