M6 weekend closure: Drivers warned as motorway to shut at Spaghetti Junction

The motorway, including the A38(M) Aston Expressway, will be closed at junction 6 from 8pm tonight through until 6am on Monday morning.

A Highways England spokesman said: "Local routes will be busier than usual during these weekend closures. Please plan your journey and allow extra time and consider using public transport if appropriate."

The roads included in the closure will be:

• M6 junction 6 southbound exit slip road closed to all traffic

• Aston Expressway from Erdington closed southbound

• Salford Circus no access to M6 northbound or M6 southbound

• M6 junction 6 northbound exit slip road closed to all traffic

• Park Circus northbound entry slip closed

• Aston Expressway (Dartmouth Circus) closed northbound

• Aston Expressway (from city) closed northbound
