Residents of Kendlewood Road and Stourbridge Road who want their postbox returned

Residents of Kendlewood Road, Kidderminster, have been calling for the postbox to be reinstated after it was taken down by Royal Mail without consultation.

Homeowners and councillors have joined together to ask the postal company for the missing postbox to be returned, arguing that "it's too far to walk" to the next available drop-off point.

Kenneth Pope, 78, who used the postbox, said: "I just wish they had asked us before they had taken it. If it was damaged, then why wasn't it just simply replaced? We live in an area where the only other option is at the top of a hill or across a main road.

"You honestly think someone would have asked us but they haven't – they haven't talked to us about replacing the box at all."
