Teenage girl injured after being hit by car on Black Country Route

A teenage girl was taken to hospital after being hit by a car on a busy Black Country road.

The 16-year-old girl was injured on the Black Country Route near Bilston Morrisons just before 11.15am on Sunday.

Her injuries are not believed to be serious, West Midlands Police said.

The driver remained at the scene and is said to be helping police with enquiries.

The dual carriageway A463 was closed for drivers heading eastbound for several hours as a result of the incident.

A pedestrian walkway was cordoned off

A black Mitsubishi with damage to its front end was left within the cordon at a pedestrian crossing between Morrisons and the Oxford Street Island.

A walkway leading to the main road was also cordoned off.
