Two-car crash blocks Castlecroft Road in Wolverhampton

Two people were treated by paramedics after a crash in Wolverhampton this morning.

Emergency services were called to the junction of Castlecroft Road and Finchfield Lane shortly before 7am today.

A fence was damaged in the collision and two people were checked over by paramedics before being discharged at the scene.

A spokesman from West Midlands Fire Service said: "We were called at 7am this morning to Castlecroft Road by the ambulance service letting us know there was a road traffic collision. We sent one fire engine and one brigade response vehicle to the scene, a total of seven firefighters.

"The crash involved two cars in collision. Everyone had got out of their vehicles before fire crews arrived at the scene. One woman received precautionary checks from the ambulance service.

"We requested the police and highways attend because of damage to a fence and a car needed removing from the road."

A West Midlands Ambulance Service added: "We were called to reports of a two-car collision at the junction of Castlecroft Road and Finchfield Lane at 6.56am this morning.

"We sent one ambulance and a paramedic officer to the scene. On arrival we discovered two patients, who following assessment, were both discharged at the scene.”

A West Midlands Police spokesman confirmed they were called to reports of a road traffic collision at 7am.
