Darren Richardson organised the event, which saw 10 cyclists ride for 24 miles for cancer charity Marie Curie on Sunday.

The 49-year-old from Penn Fields has been raising funds for the charity ever since his father Richard died after a cancer battle.

Darren said: "We've raised £350 but I'm still collecting money so I hope it'll make more than £400.

"Some people couldn't turn up because of family problems but we still had about 10 people ride.

"It was a nice day and a great bike ride.

"The scenery was nice on the way there, we could see cows and sheep in the fields, but it was a lot harder on the way back and took me five minutes longer.

"I really enjoyed it though.

"I'm going to raise as much money as I can for Marie Curie.

"My dad had cancer and he died in the hospital and the nurses helped him 24 hours a day, there were like angels.

"I'm doing some more fundraising outside Boots in Wolverhampton and I'm trying to arrange to do a charity skydive in July."
