Woman taken to hospital with suspected serious injuries after Wombourne crash

A woman has been taken to hospital with suspected serious injuries after a rush hour crash in Wombourne.

Firefighters, police and paramedics were called to the scene in Bridgnorth Road near to the Wagon and Horses just after 4pm today.

Claire Brown, spokeswoman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said two patients were taken to Russells Hall Hospital.

She said: "We were called just after 4pm to reports of a two vehicle road traffic collision.

"Two ambulances and a paramedic officer attended, and one ambulance which was passing was flagged down and stopped at the scene.

"A woman has been taken to hospital with suspected serious injuries and a male with relatively minor injuries."

Firefighters made the vehicles safe after the crash.

Four people had got out the cars by the time the crews arrived.

A spokeswoman for Staffordshire Police said that recovery of the vehicles was being organised.
