Police probe as man found with serious head injuries in Walsall street

Police have launched an investigation after a man was found with head injuries in a Walsall street.

Emergency services were called to Corporation Street at around 9.30pm on Thursday.

The man was taken to hospital although his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

West Midlands Police has now launched an investigation as it is unclear how the man sustained his injuries.

A spokesman from West Midlands Police said: "We were called after a man was found with head injuries in Corporation Street, Walsall, around 9.30pm on Thursday.

"He’s been taken to hospital although his condition is not believed to be life-threatening.

"It's currently unclear how the man sustained his injuries and anyone with information can contact us."

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: "We were called at 9.28pm to Corporation Street, Walsall.

"Two ambulances attended and found a man lying in the road with a serious injury.

"He was given trauma care on scene before being taken on blue lights to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, in Birmingham."

Anyone with information is being urged to call West Midlands Police on 101, quoting incident number 4469 of April 23.
