Tink is on the road to recovery after being shot

Dawn-Marie Skilleter, from Calf Heath, Staffordshire, noticed something was wrong with her cat, Tink, when she found her lying in the garden wounded, after not seeing her for several days.

The 47-year-old said her "heart sank" when she found her pet with injuries to her neck, body and leg before taking her to the vets where it was confirmed she had been shot.

She said: "I picked her up – she would never let me pick her up normally – and she snuggled into me so I knew then that something was wrong.

"We went into the kitchen and put her on the island and it was then you could see how bad it was. She dragged her leg behind her and she couldn't walk at all so I picked her up again and she had a wound to her neck, to the side of her body and a wound to her leg.
