Man arrested after car crashes into house in Pensnett

A man has been arrested after a car hit a house in Pensnett.

The car ploughed into the home in Tansey Green Road, in the early hours of this morning.

Images on social media show the car wedged up against a house, with two cars parked on the drive.

Emergency services visited the scene at around 12.20am.

The vehicle went through into the lounge, according to West Midlands Fire Service.

A spokesman for West Midlands Fire Service said: "We were called by the police to tell us a car had hit a house and had gone through into the lounge."

Five firefighters attended the scene and made checked the vehicle was safe, and made structural checks of the house.

The spokesman added: "The house remains structurally stable and we believe it was going to be boarded up for security purposes."

No-one inside the property was injured.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "A 28-year old man has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving, dangerous driving and possession of cannabis.

"He remains in police custody."
