Driver caught with drugs in his underpants

A man has been arrested after police stopped his car and found he had drugs hidden in his underpants.

Police made the discovery after the 24-year-old failed to stop the car for officers in Kingsfield Road, Birmingham at around 4am today.

Officers said he tried to ram his way out, but was later arrested for a range of offences – including drugs offences, dangerous driving and criminal damage.

He remained in police custody on Sunday afternoon.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "A 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, criminal damage, drugs and traffic offences during the early hours of Sunday morning.

"He failed to stop for officers in Kingsfield Road, Birmingham, at around 4am.

"He’s been taken into custody where he remained on Sunday afternoon."

Sharing a photo of the offender's damaged BMW, West Midlands Police's traffic unit, said: "Once upon a time (well last night) there was a silly chap driving around in a car with drugs hidden in his underpants.

"He failed to stop for us, took himself into a dead end and then tried to ram his way to freedom – he failed and was arrested, the end."
