Man charged after shop thefts in Walsall and Wolverhampton

A man has been charged following a series of shop till snatches across the Black Country.

The series of incidents have taken place in the Walsall and Wolverhampton areas over the last two weeks.

Police arrested Mark Hodgkinson on Thursday for five robberies, three shop thefts and threatening a person with a bladed article since December 28.

The 38-year-old, of Bilston Road, in Wolverhampton, has been remanded in custody and appeared before Dudley Magistrates Court today.

Hodgkinson entered no pleas to the charges and was remanded in custody to appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court on February 7.
