A 23-year-old man was arrested in connection with her death and taken into police custody for questioning.

He has since been released on police bail.

A post-mortem examination carried out on the woman's body has proved inconclusive and further tests are due to be carried out.

Residents in the area said Rakegate Close is normally quite a quiet area and the woman had only moved into the property in the last few months.

One neighbour, who wished to stay anonymous, said: "We saw all the tents and forensics when they arrived on Sunday.

"They only moved in a couple months ago, we didn't really see them, they kept themselves to themselves.

"We have children and of course it's concerning.

"We've never had anything around here, it's a quiet place, we've lived here six years and never seen police around."

Another neighbour, who also wished to stay anonymous, said: "I feel very sad to hear this, they only came a few months ago.

"We didn't know them but it's not nice to see."

Detective Inspector Caroline Corfield, from the force's homicide team, said: "We are in the early stages of our enquiries but we are not currently looking for anyone else in connection with the death.

"Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the young woman and we’ll be doing all we can to support them at such a distressing time."
