The haul, which had a street value of around £140,000, were found spread over several rooms at a house in Pendeford Mill Lane, Codsall.

Police said the electricity supply had also been bypassed to power the equipment, making it 'very dangerous'.

The property has since been made safe following the discovery and the plants seized.

Nobody was in the address at the time but Staffordshire Police said investigations were continuing.

Inspector Richard Meaden, of the South Staffordshire Local Policing Team said: “This was an example of fantastic work by officers, taking drugs off our streets. We would also like to thank the local community for their support.

"We are committed to tackling drug crime in our area and will continue to take appropriate action against those who engage in such activity.”
