Police swoop on suspected Wolverhampton shoplifting gang

Police swooped on a gang of suspected shoplifters - seizing vehicles, stolen goods and making arrests.

Wednesfield Police were hot on the heels of the gang on Saturday afternoon.

Officers chased the gang along Neachells Lane at the junction with Alfred Squire Road in Wednesfield at around 6.30pm.

A total of four suspects were arrested and the vehicles were taken away.

Tweeting about the incident on Saturday evening, @Wednesfield WMP said: "Officers hot on the heals (sic) of a shoplifting gang resulted in 4 under arrest, vehicle seized and £1000's of stolen goods returned."

The incident happened just hours after a police chase ended when officers deployed a stinger along Stowheath Lane in nearby Bilston.
