For the second successive year, staff from Fiume Italian Bar & Restaurant on Bridgnorth Road, Wolverhampton, picked up their two gongs at The Food Awards England.

The family-owned establishment was named 'The Best Italian restaurant in England', and also 'The best Italian restaurant in the Midlands', at an awards ceremony held at the Birmingham Conference & Events Centre on Monday, October 9.

Friday, October 13 also marked 10 years to the day of the restaurant being open for business, and husband-and-wife owners Stefano and Carla Scaringi could not have been prouder, with the awards and anniversary coming in the same week making it extra special.

Stefano, 36, said: "When we first opened the restaurant, we never would have thought it would get to where it is today.

"To win these awards is special and to do it two years in a row, and of the week of our anniversary - we are beaming, and totally over the moon.

"If anyone would have told us 10 years ago that we would be where we are today, I would have laughed at them."
