Blaze tears through campervan closing M6 slip road

News | Published:

A blaze ripped through the roof of a campervan on the M6 near Walsall this morning.

One of the motorway's exit slip roads had to be closed as a result of the fire, which started at around 8.30am.

Flames were leaping out of the roof of the van on the exit slip road at Junction 9 for Wednesbury.

Fire crews from Walsall and Wednesbury tackled the blaze at the junction's southbound exit.

Highways England were at Junction 9 and had the road back open by 10.15am.
