The Scottish rockers will be travelling down from Fife to Dead Wax, in Digbeth, on April 30.

Their new single, Sandra Speed, tells the story of a girl fallen on hard times, as "a character at once vividly familiar, but frozen perennially out of reach".

Frontman Darren Forbes said: "I wrote the song in our studio starring out the window and seeing the very thing happen right outside.

“The song is about a vulnerable girl who has mingled with the wrong crowd and lost herself.”

Released as a digital-only single on Alan McGee’s Creation 23 label, Sandra Speed directly follows the success of their debut, Chasing a Disaster.

The debut track marked the band’s signing to the label and the seven-inch vinyl sold out after being played by Steve Lamacq on his BBC6 Music Show.

Hailed by label owner and mentor McGee, who famously signed Oasis, Primal Scream, and Jesus & The Mary Chain to his Creation Records label, as “one of the great Scottish bands”, Shambolics were signed to Creation23 in the summer.

The band, which also includes Darren Forbes on vocals and guitar, Jordan McHatton on vocals and bass, and Jake Bain on vocals and drums, also headline St Luke's, in Glasgow, on March 14.

Performances then Rewired Festivals in Leeds and London, April 10 and 11, respectively.

After the Dead Wax gig they headline Record Junkee, Sheffield, May 1, followed by Sound City Festival, Liverpool, on May 2.
