Josie Hadley, 48, of Wolverhampton, was diagnosed with stage two breast cancer in 2009 along with secondary cancer in her lymph nodes, but is now living the life to the full by seeing her two sons grow up, and starting a new business.

The Light House cinema in Wolverhampton will be hosting the event, culminating in a screening of the classic 1978 film Grease on September 27 to raise money for both the cinema and the charity Ladies Fighting Breast Cancer.

“I wanted to do something a bit different, have a laugh with my friends, and for people to get out and have the opportunity to talk about breast cancer, which is something most people will be affected by in their lives,” said Josie.

“Grease just seemed like the best choice really. When you get to a certain age, a girly night is watching a musical with your friends, and Grease is a film from my childhood which I grew up with and loved.

“A friend donated 30 bottles of prosecco for the night, and there will be a gin bar too, so it’s going to be a really fun girls night out.” The fundraising night will also provide a boost for the cinema towards its Save Light House campaign after vital funding was cut. We want to raise £3,000 on the night,” said Josie. “We’ve got goodie bags to hand out to everyone who comes, and there may be a few surprises.” up our sleeves too.”
