Man stabbed in Great Barr after failed car jacking attempt

A man was stabbed in the chest for his car keys in Great Barr.

Police were called to Moreton Avenue, near Queslett Road, shortly after 1.30pm today.

The victim, aged in his 20s, was approached by a man demanding the keys to his car, before he was stabbed in the chest by the attacker.

He was taken to hospital by air ambulance, where he was being treated for his injuries, which are not believed to be life threatening or life changing, last night.

The offender made off from the scene in a dark blue Ford Fiesta.
