Fringe Arts Wolverhampton returns with call for artists, makers and performers
Get involved as Fringe Festival and lantern parade returns this November
Fringe Arts Wolverhampton is back this November, returning bigger, bolder and more ambitious following the success of its inaugural festival.
Taking place from November 27-29, this year's festival, Illuminate, invites artists, makers, performers and communities to explore themes of sustainability, creativity and collective action through exhibitions, performances, installations and events across Wolverhampton city centre.

Applications are now open across four exciting strands:
- Performers – Spoken word, live music, DJ sets, artist talks, workshops, storytelling, film screenings and other small-scale cultural events.
- Paraders – Join the spectacular lantern parade as a performer, community group, cultural organisation, creative collective or lantern bearer.
- Makers – Apply for one of six subsidised stalls at the Black Country Artisan Fair in the Mander Centre, showcasing and selling handmade products and original designs.
- Showcases – Visual artists are invited to exhibit existing work across festival venues including The Grand Palace, St Peter's Collegiate Church and Mander Centre Community Hub. You can also apply to our inclusive access fund to support showcasing costs.

Fringe Arts Wolverhampton is also calling on independent businesses and organisations in Wolverhampton city centre to get involved. If you have a venue and would like to host a performance, exhibition or creative event during the festival, we'd love to hear from you.

Applications close Friday, August 21. To apply, discuss hosting an event or find out more, contact [email protected].
Fringe Arts Wolverhampton 2026 is funded by Arts Council England and Enjoy Wolverhampton, in partnership with Asylum Artist Quarter and Gatis Community Space CIC.
