Stourbridge Post Office was also closed during the investigation.

Extra police patrols have been carried out in Stourbridge following reports of a rape.

Stourbridge Post Office was closed temporarily on Monday. A spokesman said: “The police presence was not connected to Stourbridge Post Office. The branch was temporarily closed on Monday (2/11) during the police investigation in the area. The branch has re-opened on Tuesday.

“You will need to ask the police about their investigation.”

A man has since been charged with rape and was due to appear in court this morning.
