The agreement will see Gulf Racing’s Porsche 911 RSR GTE car for the event kitted out in old gold and black Wolves branding.

The 24 Hours of Le Mans is one of the oldest and most prestigious endurance races in the world, dating back to 1923, but due to the coronavirus pandemic it now will take place virtually on June 13 and 14, with the traditional race having been rescheduled for September.

The 24 Hours of Le Mans Virtual will open a new era in sim racing and several high-profile Formula 1 stars are taking part including McLaren’s Lando Norris, Red Bull Racing’s Max Verstappen and former world champions Jenson Button and Fernando Alonso.

Russell Jones, Wolves’ general manager for marketing and commercial growth, said: “This is a great opportunity for Wolves.

"This partnership provides us with an opportunity to reach a brand-new audience and align the Wolves brand with one of the most iconic motor competitions in the world.”
