The gold and black youngsters conceded top spot in their group to the Rams after their 3-1 defeat at Compton but still go through to the knockout stage.

It was Wolves who posed the early threat with Chem Campbell testing the Rams keeper Manny Idem early on.

Renat Dadashov and Enzo Loiodice then combined to work an opening but Loiodice screwed his shot wide from the edge of the penalty area.

And it was the home side who made the breakthrough just after the half-hour when Dadashov sent Taylor Perry clear. The midfielder’s effort was blocked by the Derby keeper but rebounded against the Wolves youngster and into the net.

Derby almost equalised just after half-time but Josh Shonibare fired over from close range.

The Rams were back on level terms after an hour though when Jahmal Hector-Ingram fired home from the penalty spot after a foul in the box by Owen Otasowie.

They took the lead when a free-kick was spilled by Wolves keeper Joe Young and Josh Shonibare turned home.

And the Rams completed the scoring with nine minutes remaining when Louie Shibley fired in a rebound after Young had pulled off a good save.
